Major Development Underway at WorldMark Resort Denarau Island

4th November, 2011 - A groundbreaking ceremony was held at WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham Denarau Island on 4 November to mark the beginning of the construction of Stage 3 of the resort.
The new development is expected to be one of the largest tourism developments currently underway in Fiji and will include the construction of 63 new spacious and luxurious accommodation options for WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham owners and guests.
Barry Robinson, CEO and Managing Director of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, was joined by Fiji Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama and the Tui Nadi for the groundbreaking and land blessing ceremony.
“Our commitment to providing first-class accommodation and facilities to WorldMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham owners and guests is reflected in this significant redevelopment of this property, which was purchased in 1998 and the first in our portfolio that now encompasses 23 resorts throughout the Asia Pacific region,” Mr. Robinson said.
The styles of accommodation will range from one and two-bedroom Deluxe Apartments to Presidential Suites with private lounge pools overlooking the ocean, providing the utmost in resort accommodation.
Other enhancements will include an expansive pool area refurbishment with a pool side café and additional pool with swim up bar. The resort reception and lobby will be expanded and redeveloped and a new restaurant will be constructed in a different area of the resort all the while maintaining the tropical environment.
During the construction period the enjoyment of the existing resort by guests and owners will be a priority and there will be minimum impact to those staying at the resort.
Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific is partnering with Pacific Building Solutions (PBS) for the development.
